Honor 6 root guide for Marshmallow EMUI 4.0 with TWRP

MARSHMALLOW has been officially released by Honor for Honor 6. It's time for us to root our devices. Follow the short procedure to root your Honor 6 in 5 minutes.

SUCCESSFULLY TESTED ON THE HONOR 6 RUNNING B822

Requirements:

• Honor 6 with unlocked bootloader
• Hi suite/usb drivers installed
• Root files– Download

Step 1: Download Root file

Download root.7z from the above link and save it to your computer. Extract the file using 7zip.

Step 2: Normal configurations

Make sure you have installed hisuite or the appropriate usb drivers.

Make sure you have enabled usb debugging options from the developer mode

• 1^st step: Open Settings.
• 2^nd step: Find and choose About phone.
• 3^rd step: Locate Build number and click it for 6 to 8 times until a prompt informs you that developer mode has already been enabled.
• Secondly, find and turn on USB debugging in Developer options.
• 1^st step: Go back to Settings.
• 2^nd step: Click Developer options in Settings.
• 3^rd step: Select USB debugging and choose OK in the pop-up window to confirm allowing USB debugging.

Step 2: Install TWRP

Connect your phone via usb cable

Open the root folder you will find "1 flashing twrp.bat" file double click on it

Your device will get into the fastboot mode and twrp recovery will be flashed.

*device will reboot automatically *

Step 3: Copying super user files

Inside the root folder you will find one more folder named as "su"

open the su folder and copy "flash this first.zip" and "flash this second.zip"  to the root of you  internal memory.

No need to extract the zip files

Step 4: Reboot to recovery

Open the root folder you will find "2 reboot recovery.bat" file double click on it

Your device will get into the recovery mode .

Step 4: Flashing both the zip files

Just swipe to enter into the twrp recovery menu

click on "INSTALL" locate the copied "flash this first.zip" file then click on it

Swipe to install

It will start the flashing

Click reboot.

In the same manner flash "flash this second.zip"

 

Congrats you have successfully rooted your phone 

 

Additional Step: If you wish to flash the stock revocery in order to install ota updates then

Open the root folder you will find "3 stock recovery.bat" file double click on it

Your device will get into the fastboot mode and stock recovery will be flashed.
